RESEARCH PROJECT | DISSERTATION
Journeying towards a participatory church. Church Development and Liturgy between tradition, inculturation and late modernity
Given the increasing religious plurality of modern societies, which is particularly evident in schools, my dissertation project poses the question of the possibilities for performing religious celebrations in schools. For this purpose, I analyze examples of celebrations from schools in Germany based on questions of a theology of religion and ritual theory. Building on this analysis I want to undertake a systematization and a categorization of the individual elements of the celebrations. Within the framework of this evaluation, viewpoints of different religious communities are included in the sense of the so-called Comparative Theology.
