RESEARCH PROJECT | DISSERTATION

My dissertation project examines the significance of socalled “spiritual influencers” in the context of social, spiritual, cultural, theological and religious transformation processes from a religious studies perspective. The aim of the research project is to show the close interconnection between key biographical situations and local as well as global discourses, using the example of the Buddhist nun Ayya Khema and the Benedictine monk David Steindl-Rast. On a methodological level, an interweaving of biographical and discourse analysis will be used to identify these key biographical situations.
